Presidents and Vice Presidents communication motion
Hello,
my name is Lera Foust, and I am representing the Presidents and Vice Presidents who attended the 2024 Fall PPV meeting and the 2025 Spring PPV meeting at Randolph Community College.
There is a never-ending need for our Presidents and Vice Presidents to improve as leaders for the betterment of their teams. I am certain this is true for every position in SGA. We continually ask ourselves, "What else can we do, and how can we help more?"
With this in mind, we have compiled a proposal for unity throughout SGA delegations, bridging conferences and extending beyond current representatives to involve past and future leaders. We plan to start by unifying Presidents and Vice Presidents. This initiative will provide you and any Student Government member of N4CSGA with a valuable resource, offering insights and perspectives from current and past Presidents and Vice Presidents on inquiries and challenges you and your college face.
Q: Why use Wix?
A: Although Wix is currently being used, it's not being utilized to its full potential. This initiative would enhance and expand upon the existing group chats by adjusting their purpose and structure to be more specific and inclusive.
Q: Why does this need a motion?
A: As I'm graduating, there will be changes in our board, advisors, and N4CSGA's leadership. This motion ensures N4CSGA remains accountable for updating and promoting this platform, allowing alumni Presidents and Vice Presidents to stay connected with new members and fostering continuity and community.
Note: This is not a legislative proposal, but rather a call to action to enhance an existing resource.
This matters deeply to me because it's a crucial first step. I've been in the shoes of a struggling president, unsure of how to navigate challenges like losing a beloved advisor mid-semester or crafting an effective board of trustees report.
I remember the frustration and isolation that came with trial and error. But what if I had a network of experienced Presidents and Vice Presidents to turn to for guidance?
That's what this motion represents: a chance to create a supportive community where we can share knowledge, ask questions, and learn from one another. I may not have all the answers, but I'm willing to take a chance on this motion because I know that together, we can make a difference.
